Staying in Montmartre: a room, apartment or hostel bed?
An address near the hill is not enough to choose a stay. Some properties offer both shared beds and entire accommodation; elsewhere, views, terraces or restaurant services depend on your booking. This guide compares seven properties using their own published information without claiming available rates or rooms.
The short answer
What matters before you go.
For an Abbesses room, compare Arts, Marcel Aymé and Monsieur Aristide. To separate an overnight stay from a panoramic outing, consider Terrass’. Beau M and Le Village require choosing between rooms and dormitories; Yves Robert is in Pajol and separates permanent access from reception until 11 pm. Confirm the product, total stay cost and access conditions.
What to decide before booking
| Option | Useful for | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Arts | Abbesses room | Category view; pets not allowed |
| Marcel Aymé | Room or apartment | Confirm facilities and adapted room |
| Monsieur Aristide | Room, terrace or suite | Private spaces depend on category |
| Terrass’ | Stay and panoramic restaurant | Separate bookings and inclusions |
| Yves Robert | Pajol stay | Reception 7 am–11 pm despite permanent access |
| Beau M | Private or shared | Bed or room; total for the party |
| Le Village | Dormitory, room or kitchen | Lift without guaranteed adapted access |
Action plan
The route,
step by step.
Times and order are guideposts. Always adapt the visit to crowds, actual access and your group’s energy.
Define the booking unit
Write down travellers and nights. For a dormitory, check whether you book a bed or hire the room. For cooking, read the apartment or guest-kitchen description; the word hotel guarantees no facilities.
Check arrival and the final route
Give your estimated arrival and ask how to collect keys. Permanent access does not always mean permanent reception. Then check the entrance address, terrain and luggage; general proximity to Montmartre does not describe a stair-free route.
Compare the total and conditions
Compare the same duration, occupancy and category. Add chosen services and read taxes, cancellation and payment in the exact offer. If a view or adapted room is essential, confirm that category before booking.
Useful trade-offs
What really changes the visit.
Views do not belong to every room
A rooftop or restaurant photograph does not describe the booked room. Ask about floor, orientation and category if that drives your choice.
Arrange access with the property
Le Village lists a lift but also says it is not adapted. Yves Robert lists adapted rooms. These different statements call for specific enquiries, never inferred availability.
Practical questions
Before confirming the route.
Which hotel is cheapest?+
Without quotes for your dates and travellers, no reliable ranking is possible. Compare totals for equivalent categories and conditions.
Does a room include dinner or rooftop access?+
Check the offer: accommodation, restaurants and experiences can have separate bookings.
Check on the day
Official and practical sources.
Hours, outages, works, prices and access conditions change. For any important requirement, check the relevant source and contact the venue directly.
